Peru Mountain Biking Trip Itinerary

Cusco-Lares-Hotsprings-Calca-Urubamba-Chinchero-Moray- Maras-Saltpans-Cusco

After your arrival in Cusco. Peru. we start by driving high into the Andes, to our first downhill on dirt road into the rarely visited valley of Lares ending with a relaxing soak in the spectacular hot-springs. “Los Banos del Inca”.

Another day of big down-hills follows on a mix of ancient Inca Trails and dirt road to bring us to Calca for a short drive to our campsite in the bustling town of Urubamba.

There is now a two day option to return to Cusco or continue on probably the best one day bike ride in the whole Andes. This ride which starts from the town of Chinchero and cycles past Lake Huaypo, takes us over the fantastic dirt trails of the fertile Chincero plain with lunch at the famous circular ruins of Moray and descends to the floor of the Sacred valley on donkey trails through the working salt pans of Maras. Then we take off the edge on a huge downhill through the saltpans of Salineras on an old mule trail which brings us again to the Urubamba river and our return journey to our hotel in Cusco.

This trip makes a perfect add-on to our Machu Picchu - Inca Trail - Apurimac River Combo Adventure. A full support vehicle is on-hand at all times for the tired and weary. Customized departures are also available on request.
