Peru Adventure Vacations

Inca Trail - Machu Picchu - Apurimac River - Cotahuasi River - Colca River - Mountain Biking - Peru Jungle Lodge - Crossing Peru

Join Bio Bio Expeditions on a hiking, rafting or kayaking journey in magical Peru!

Peru has everything an adventurer could ever want. From Cusco and Machu Picchu, the Inca Trail to the Sierras, from the Andes to the Atacama, one could spend a lifetime exploring the natural wonders of Peru. Bio Bio Expeditions has worked hard to combine the best of Peru’s natural treasures into a set of Peru trekking, white water rafting and kayaking adventures which will give you memories for years to come.

Our rafting, kayaking and hiking trips in Peru include very popular rafting and hiking adventures on the Apurimac River , hiking the world-famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and unforgettable rafting and kayaking on the Cotahuasi and Colca Rivers. All of our Bio Bio Expeditions trips combine a Class IV-V whitewater rafting trip with a spectacular trek where ancient Incan ruins are leisurely explored. We also offer terrific trip extensions for mountain biking in Peru to staying in a Peru Jungle Lodge “Amazon-style”!

Bio Bio Expeditions began running rivers in Peru over 15 years ago and it is the close and warm relationships we have formed with local fun-loving and hard working Peruvians that makes our trips so successful and memorable. When we began our operations in Peru, we became close “compadres” with the famous “Vellutino brothers”, a family of adventurers who were some the first whitewater boaters in Peru and continue to lead the way in the global whitewater community. We are also partnered up with Chando Gonzalez of Cusco who has been running professional river and trekking trips since the early 1970’s. Like Chile, Peru is another “home away from home” for us where we are truly welcomed with open arms and are privileged to share with our local hosts some of Perus best kept secrets and scenic treasures.

While staying in town, in Arequipa and Cusco, we overnight in beautiful, fun, centrally located hotels and enjoy meals at delicous local restaurants serving fresh, modern interpretations of traditional Peruvian fare. The nomadic camps we build as we move downsteam or hike the ancient trails are super comfortable and have in many cases spectacular views along with superb camping cuisine! Most importantly, the combination of American and Peruvian guides creates the best situation for learning, laughing, safety and smiles!

We invite you to grab a paddle, lace up your hiking boots and dive into Peru for the adventure of a lifetime!
