Join us in northern California for kayaking school on the Klamath River! Bio Bio Expeditions is proud to offer a kayak school for beginning to intermediate kayakers on a beautiful 20 mile stretch of this Wild and Scenic River in Northern California.

Surrounded by forest and wildlife but with the added safety of a nearby road, the Klamath River provides an easy escape for a relaxing wilderness weekend of kayaking. Imagine a 3 day kayaking class that begins at “Happy Camp” and ends at “Paradise Point” on the Klamath River in California. The wildlife viewing is abundant with osprey, great heron, river otter, deer and bear. The Klamath is warm in temperature and has the perfect combination of calm pools for practicing rolls in a kayak and beginner-friendly Class I-II+ rapids.

We operate our kayak school like a traditional river trip with a support raft that carries all our gear while we travel downriver camping at big sandy beaches along the way. We teach you all the kayaking basics including catching and exiting eddies, reading water flows and rapids, river safety, boat selection, and beginning play-boating moves. We maintain a 1 to 3 instructor to student ratio. Our kayak instructors are professional, supportive, and nurturing to help the student build a solid base of confidence and safety.

We emphasize that kayaking is more than just making it through the rapids, but the whole journey down the river and the joy of being out on the water no matter what your skill level. The Klamath River kayak school with Bio Bio Expeditions is the perfect venue to accomplish all these goals. This class will leave you with an improved understanding of kayaking. If you have a spouse or friend that does not want to kayak there is plenty of room in the raft. They too will enjoy the beauty of the Klamath river!
