Private African Safaris

“My expectations for Africa were high, and Bio Bio was able to exceed them in every way.” – Stephanie Poole

PRIVATE AFRICAN SAFARIS

Bio Bio Expeditions is proud to announce that we have formed a partnership with Wilderness Safaris to offer you high end private African safaris to Botswana and other parts of Southern Africa.

CUSTOM AFRICAN SAFARIS IN BOTSWANA

Botswana is Africa's shining light with a stable and peaceful democracy, positive GDP growth and abundant natural resources. More then 600 kilometers from the nearest ocean, this landlocked country has Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe as its neighbors. With the exception of the eastern part of Botswana, where the summer rainfall is slightly higher, the world renown Kalahari Desert covers a large area within the country. The Okavango Delta is also popular, a wondrous wetland receiving its waters from the rain falling over a thousand kilometers away, and sustaining a high diversity of fauna and flora. In the north east of the country the Chobe and Linyait National Parks are renowned for their predators and large concentrations of game.

Today wildlife and tourism employs about 45% of the population in Northern Botswana. The country has remained focused on delivering the finest possible authentic wildlife experience, which is accomplished through one of Africa's most sensible land plans ever devised. While there are National Parks open to the general public, much of the countries most productive wildlife areas lie outside these parks in private reserves known as concessions . The concessions are leased to safari companies which must manage them within strict guidelines to prevent overcrowding, must train and employ local people and are obliged to pay for the privilege of using these areas. In this way nearly 40% of the country has been set aside for wildlife. All of the Safari camps that Wilderness Safaris runs or manages are situated in private concessions.

About Our Partner - Wilderness Safaris

Wilderness Safaris was established in 1983 and grew from humble beginnings. Their passion and drive has never changed to share the company's heritage of taking visitors to remote reserves on the African subcontinent in a manner that leaves little imprint on the environment, yet has a positive impact on safari guests. The team at Wilderness Safaris believes that in the world's wilderness areas lies the preservation of humankind. Over the years Wilderness Safaris has built a successful safari business, delivering a unique experience, while making certain that southern Africa's pristine wilderness and wildlife areas remain protected.

Wilderness Safaris offers wildlife, marine and heritage safaris which are specialized, educational, explorative and fun in remote and pristine wilderness destinations. Their camps and services are safe, hygienic, authentic and cater to their guests need for comfort and adventure. The company's conservation through tourism policy shares the benefits of tourism with local communities and ensures the protection of these areas for future generations.

Many guests have traveled extensively, often staying in the worlds best hotels, but when on African safari, the majority want a safari camp with an unspoilt atmosphere, yet with the comforts of a hotel room. The architecture and design of the Wilderness Safari camps attempt to achieve this delicate balance, combining comfort with the ambience of the surrounding environment. Camp sizes are kept small and intimate, contributing to an exclusive as well as warm atmosphere.

“We want to make a difference in the lives of our guests, our people and neighboring communities, be enabling them to find new paths, and leaving a legacy for our children.”
